We support the Cornwall Wildlife Trust.
No matter where you are in the UK you can support your County or regional wildlife trust. Being based in Cornwall we naturally support our own county's wildlife trust and donate to the work they carry out.
Why is it important to support a wildlife trust? Well it goes to the very core of our Planet's survival. That might seem like an extreme thought but it's factual. As our planet loses ever more species of plant, insect and animal life then so our natural eco-systems become threatened and as they falter so we see a change in biodiversity and natural habitats. Take away our natural pollinators; Bees, Birds, insects even fly's, then our natural habitat will no longer thrive, grow, regenerate. Alternatively, kill off the habitat where our wildlife Mammals exist then our pollinator populations could go unchecked which would equally, not be a good thing for our planet.
For decades mankind, governments, corporations, farming practices and population growth have all had a negative impact on wildlife and nature. Have you heard of the phrase; "let nature take its course"? Well the course that nature is taking is not its own but the course mankind is steering for it and for decades probably starting back to the start of the industrial revolution in the 19th century, the course has been one of destruction leading to the loss of thousands of natural species!
Part of a Wildlife Trust's 'ambitions' is education. Through Open days, local events, going into schools, presentations and hands-on involvement such as organised beach clean-ups a Wildlife Trust is engaging with its local neighbourhoods to promote awareness of the need to preserve our wildlife habitats.
From proceeds of our sales we make donations to the Cornwall Wildlife Trust. You too can make direct donations to your local trust and better still, get directly involved with their events which you can look up on your local trusts website. We all need to educate ourselves and we need to make a difference. We have one planet and we need to preserve it!
